Meandering through the awe-inspiring hinterland, forest and coastal settings, the Mornington Peninsula’s 100km Walk has become one of the state’s top exploratory experiences, promoting the dual notions of discovery and wonder. Combining four prominent walking trails, this adventure can be completed over numerous days or visits and paves the way for multiple trips to the distinguished region.
Totalling 26km in distance, The Two Bays Walking Track makes its way from Dromana to Cape Schanck and includes both rugged and smooth terrains on the journey. Walkers will have the chance to ascend the hills towards Arthurs Seat, meander along the gentle streets of Rosebud as well as venture through the enchanting grasslands and gullies of Greens Bush.
Exemplifying the beauty and brilliance of the Mornington Peninsula National Park, The Coastal Walk, promotes panoramic sea views of Bass Strait along both clifftop and sand terrains. With a total length of 30km, this track transports visitors from the Cape Schanck Lighthouse to Portsea’s London Bridge, traversing through the esteemed destinations of Diamond Bay and Sorrento Ocean Beach along the way.
With both antique intrigue and unbeatable views on offer, The Point Nepean Walk represents one of the region’s most captivating trail experiences. As part of the Point Nepean National Park, sites of the military defence fort and the Quarantine Station are available to observe for walkers, in addition to scenic outlooks of Queenscliff and the Port Phillip Bay Heads.
Leading back along Port Phillip Bay from Portsea to Dromana, the 28km Bay Trail provides numerous opportunities for a beach stopover whilst also presenting the coastal attractions of jetties, piers and shopping strips. Navigating through the distinguished settings of Blairgowrie and Rye, walkers are provided with the opportune moment to embrace the Peninsula oasis, unwind and enjoy.
